Well
I have completed 25 paintings for the exhibition in the spring. I find
that painting these scenes of summer have helped me to keep the winter
blahs from getting to me. I do love the sunshine and warm summer
breezes. However I do not live in a tropical climate so I have to make
the best of where I am. These landscapes have helped me to imagine it
warm and sunny once again just like it was when I visited the locations in my paintings. This painting is one of the paintings from a series of landscapes from my
travels to Greece and the American Southwest. More images will be posted as soon as they dry and can be scanned.
This painting was created from a walk we, (my husband and I ) took
through the wonderfully romantic town of Kalabaka. It is located at the
base of the exorbitant mountains of Meteora in Greece. These mountains are truly precipitous as
if they set right within the sky. The Greeks say it is as if they are
hanging from the sky.
The town below the mountains, Kalabaka , as shown
in the painting is very magical in appearance. As it is when you are up
in Meteora on top of the mountain's edge looking down. More about that
later when I post again. That's it for now. Enjoy the view.
